| Current mood: accomplished 2006 Can be defined with one word: A m a z i n g . . . -I survived a semester of 18 credit hours at Lakeland last Spring. I got really good grades and one class short of graduating. -I also worked both jobs: Chuck E Cheese and the bookstore through the summer and continued to help with the youth group, when able. -I had a root canal, that hurt. -I sprained my ankle racing to Artic Thunder at Chuck E Cheese. No, it wasn't really Meghan Tucker's fault... -In the summer, I quit both jobs. That was... really hard for me. -I left for Bolivia wih a team from church, just like the past few years Only this time... I wasn't coming home with them. -I said goodbye to friends and family. That was really hard for me, too. -I lived in Bolivia for 6 months. -I taught English to some neighborhood kids. -I volunteered at a school. -I helped with a Kid's Club of 400 kids every week and a Christmas party with over 800. -I learned a little more Spanish. -I went swimming on my birthday in November. -((That was my 21st birthday, by the way. That's the last big age marker that people look forward to; 30 isn't so exciting...)) -I lived with (and next to) the most amazing people. -In December, I had to say goodbye. (One of the hardest things I have ever done- leaving that place and those people.) -I was home just in time for Christmas. -I celebrated with my family. This year I learned so many lessons about myself, God, and life. The biggest one would have to be that in an ever-changing world, God is faithful. No matter how your life changes, He never does and He is always that faithful friend there with you. What more could one ask for? 2007 What is to come? My plans are more fickle and foggy right now then ever before. But, everything will unfold shortly. Wherever this year takes me, I know that I will learn more about my journey and my Author. Yes, it will have its challenge, but I am prepared for what it has for for me. I will never walk alone.
goodbye, 2006... welcome, 2007...! |
